See your doc: talk to the doctor who did the PAP. The next step after a positive PAP could be simply repeating the test in 6 months or a year, or could mean going in for a colposcopy, a procedure to examine the cervix under a microscope and may involve taking biopsies to determine if there is cervical cancer. What happens next depends on many things like your age, HPV status and what kind of abnormal cells.
