Needs evaluation: 6-8 weeks of diarrhea is too long. How quickly an evaluation should occur depends on if any other symptoms, such as weight loss. Suggest stool culture, check for parasites, C. diff, blood in stool. If all normal and continued symptoms, then need to look into food sensitivities/malabsorption syndromes of childhood. Best to work this through a pediatric GI doctor.
