Probably a virus: It probably means they have one of the many stomach viruses which are going around many parts of the country right now. Trying to keep him hydrated oraly is really the best treatment, better even than IV fluids. Give one sip of hydration (water, pedialyte, gatorade) on a spoon at a time. If he keeps it down, give another spoonful 5 minutes later and keep it up round the clock until he's better.
