A member asked:

Hello, i was diagnosed with under active thyroid. what can you tell me about it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several things: Hi. Most likely cause is your own immune system attacked it and destroyed it (autoimmune attack). You need to take thyroid hormone replacement to make up for what your thyroid can no longer make. The dose of thyroid hormone needs to be adjusted based on labs and how you feel. You'll do fine! To your health!
