No: Mefenamic acid is in a class of medications called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). NSAIDs may increase the risk of having a heart attack or a stroke, cause ulcers, bleeding, or holes in the stomach or intestine, and may cause kidney damage. NSAIDs are not known to cause poor memory. To reduce the amount of mefanamic acid you need, consider taking a medication to prevent migraine
