Side effects EFFEXOR (venlafaxine): There are different types of Antidepressant/-anxiety meds. Effexor (venlafaxine) effects both serotonin and norepinephrine, by increasing availability to nerve cells in the brain. In some people, the norepinephrine results in increasing anxiety, so let your Doc know about your anxiety worsening.
