Bell' palsy : There are differences between a stroke and Bell's palsy. After a stroke where the face is weak, the person can still wrinkle the forehead. In Bell's palsy the person can't wrinkle the forehead. Tingling but not numbness is associated with Bell's palsy. Numbness is more associated with pathology of the trigeminal nerve. Also, numbness in the arm or leg is more likely with a stroke.

Get another opinion: Bell's palsy involves diffuse unilateral facial weakness, and does not present with isolated solitary numbness. If there is concern for stroke risk or another occult neurological disorder, would get second opinion to be safe.
