Philosophical questi: That is not really fully a medical question - various factors come into play based on peoples upbringing and religious/moral beliefs. Some consider conception the beginning of life - some consider the baby only when it reaches the age where it is "viable" outside of mom (somewhere in the 24-26 week gestation).
