I keep having a short period a few spots about once a month, i am also on metformin 3x daily and can i take clomid (clomiphene) if i only bleed for a day??

Yes: The amount of bleeding is not important as long as it is a menses and the timing is correct. Clomid (clomiphene) is generally taken D3-7 or D5-9 of the cycle with D1 being the first day of bleeding.
