Can prepubescent girls develop yeast infections?

Yeast in kids: Yeast or candidal infections can occur in girls who haven't reached puberty yet. There are certain risks such as obesity, poor hygiene, skin diseases, and immunosuppressive conditions that could lead to infection. Remember yeast love a "free ride" so if the body is weakened already, it's easier for them to grow. Good to see a gynecologist that treats kids or a knowledgeable pediatrician.

Yeast infections: It could be, especially if she is approaching puberty. However, there are other things that could cause similar symptoms. See your doctor, to be sure.
