Toe Fracture: I would suggesting going to see a podiatrist and have a foot x-ray taken. Depending on the severity of the fracture and/ or dislocation, the toe will need to be set and taped to the adjacent toe. This will be done under local anesthesia, so that it can be more comfortable for the patient. Your mother will also need to wear a surgical shoe and ice and elevate her foot to control swelling.
