Normal: Usually takes 6-8 weeks for an avulsion fracture to completely heal, even without weight bearing on it. You can even have swelling and some tenderness 6 months to 1 year after an injury like this. Where is the avulsion fracture? I'm assuming in your ankle? Depending on the bone and severity of the avulsion, you may be able to progressively start weight bearing and begin rehab at this point.
