Hello doctor. i am diagnosed with diffuse annular disc bulge 1 to 2 mm at l4 l5. tightnness in mid and low back. how bad will this progress ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Back pain: A bulging disc between the lumbar 4 and 5 vertebral bodies is a sign of early arthritis in the low back. We treat you and not the MRI scan. In general, anti-inflammatory medications and muscle relaxers will reduce or eliminate the pain. Stretching exercise for the low back will improve flexibility. Strengthen core muscles to prevent progression of the bulging disc.
