Unlikely -- possible: It's possible to react to a hydrolyzed formula, but Neocate is specially formulated to be hypoallergenic, and there are certainly many different types of infant rashes and different things he could react to. I agree with your grandchild's physicians that the Neocate is unlikely to be the cause.

No rash from Neocate: You mention food intolerance, but it is most probably allergy. You don't describe the rashes. Are they hives, or ongoing eczema (atopic dermatitis, AD)? Neocate is unlikely to cause rashes. Nexium (esomeprazole) definitely may cause rashes. Also, if your grandson has AD, he may break out even if not fed an allergenic food.
