At his 15-month : check-up, confirm normal health & development. Have a consistent bedtime; feed, read, brush teeth, put him in his own crib in his own room, drowsy, but awake, with no liquids or pacifier & let him learn to self-calm for sleep. The night crying will worsen at first, then stop only if you ignore it consistently. AAP. org has a graded method for this if you can't stay out of his room.
