Can be: First line therapy for scabies is a topical scabicide. Ivermectin (stromectol) is an oral anti-parasitic agent which has been used to treat scabies but is not fda-approved for this use and is considered second line therapy in severe cases or in patients who cannot tolerate topical agents.
