Yes, this is viral.: Viral GI illness can take between 7-10 days to resolve. You should encourage a BRATT type diet (bananas, rice, apple sauce, toast & tea) and avoid or minimize milk & dairy. Avoid using any Imodium (loperamide) or Peptobismol. If your child has any bloody stools, she should be checked by her pediatrician.
