NSAIDs: Those are medicines like Aleve, (naproxen) Aspirin and a few prescription medications. Normally it should take a couple of weeks to heal. You could also try capsacin an OTC cream. As long as there is no fracture have patience.

NSAIDS: Ibuprofen, the generic for Motrin, or naproxen, the generic for Aleve, are both good options. Bruised ribs can take awhile to heal and can hurt just as much as a fracture. Remember to take regular deep breaths when you have bruised or fractured ribs so that you don't develop lung infections.
