How long does it take for a bone bruise in the ribs to heal?

6 to 8 weeks: Most rib injuries are fractures. Rib "bruises" are most likely fractures in which the ends fit together so well they can't be seen on xray. In most people, rib fractures heal completely in 6-8 weeks.
