Criteria: PTSD has 6 strict criteria: 1. Experiencing trauma 2. Reliving trauma (nightmares or flashbacks) 3. Avoiding trauma reminders 4. Hyper-arousal (vigilance/startle) 5. Trauma more than a month 6. Affects daily function You need to meet all 6 out of 6 criteria

Symptoms : Symptoms include sleep loss, swings of anxiety and depression, nightmares about the incident or incidences, flashbacks, social isolation, not being able to get the trauma or trauma most out of your head,irritability and noticing hypervigilance.

PTSD: The symptoms are what we focus on more than the diagnostic label. EMDR Therapy is least distressing to clients and more effective. Nightmares can best be resolved with Planned Dream Intervention training. It is good if you get treatment before symptoms increase.
