Because they are: breathing in SMOKE. If you are ever in a fire, you will come away coughing and wheezing. Coughing is a protective effect of the body to help you get rid of toxic stuff you are breathing in, and wheezing is the result of that toxic stuff causing the small airways to constrict and try to keep the bad stuff out. Tobacco stuff is BAD STUFF!!!
