Bad liver=cirrhosis: people with cirrhosis are are at risk for liver cancer, varices (big veins along the food tube that can rupture and bleed), ascites (fluid in the belly) and encephalopathy (confusion). any one of those can lead to death, so best to prevent having a 'bad liver'...
