Is it possible for men 55 or over who has angina to drink beer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

How much beer?: Alcohol is NOT good for the heart, especially in excess. Social drinking (1-2 drinks per day) will not cause harm in most people, whether beer, wine or distilled spirits, but higher amounts can cause hypertension and be toxic to the heart itself. Safe drinking in men is no more than 14/week, and never more than 4 at one time. Alcohol has drug interactions - talk to your doctor about your health.
