Is it possible for melanism to also happen in humans?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Odd question. Variations in human skin color can be genetic variations in melanin. Dark color of some organs occurs in special situations such as exposure to meds or toxins. Adrenal insufficiency, acanthosis nigricans, niacin deficiency (pellagra), high dose minocycline, etc.
