A member asked:

Is it possible for malignant mesothelioma to cause osteolytic lesion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Very rare: malignant mesothelioma arises primarily from pleura of lung cavity or from peritoneal lining. Dx usually made late but where spreading occurs in lung or peritoneal cavity, bone and brain spread very rare. In few bone cases MRI needed to see tumor, which did not produce lytic lesions though anything is possible.
