A member asked:

It's okay to use gentamicin to treat pink eye right?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not helpful: Gentamicin is a very good bacterial antibiotic. Pink eye is caused by a virus and gentamicin will have no effect on it. The old joke runs: Pink eye untreated lasts a week but if you use an antibiotic like gentamicin it will take only seven days.
