Uncertain: Very wide range of possibilities here from deep bruise to localized vein thrombus to a process called erythema nodosum- inflammation related usually to a medicine or immune reaction. The duration for 3-4 weeks means that if it is not improving, you should see your primary care physician and have them look at it.
