Yes: your finger is very sensitive, it's how you feel. The injury causes pain and swelling. It will take time for this to go away. Make sure you keep it clean with lots of warm soapy water rinses, like in the shower. If there is increased redness, pain or white snotty discharge return to the doctor immediately.

Can be normal: after a severe crush injury of the fingertip fr someone to have pain. Tight dressings can be one cause, but fingertips are very sensative and while pain diminishes with time it can last for a while. HAND Elevation and gentle motion of the unaffected joints of the same and adjacent fingers often helps as log as it is ok with respecto the fracture and the fracture if involved the joint is splinted
