Fruits & diarrhea: The sugar content of fruits is fairly high, and that high sugar content in a stressed intestinal tract will prolong the loose stools. While not dangerous for him, it will prolong the time he has loose stools and may cause some cramping and gas. If your pediatrician says it's best to wait a few weeks to give fruit again, I would heed his/her call and choose other options for a few weeks.

Maybe: Juices like apple/peach/pear/prune contain a sugar that is poorly absorbed and is likely to give him more diarrhea. Applesauce and bananas can actually help firm him up along with cereals. Be patient. There is no reason for him to get these juices in his lifetime (too much sugar) and there are plenty of nutritious alternatives to keep him entertained.
