A member asked:

Persistant sore throat, went to doctor, said it was post nasal drip. swollen now for a few month. no response to antibiotics. non-worsening condition.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rule out GERD: Post nasal drip unless purulent usually does not cause a sore throat. Whenever the throat hurts and there is no infection that can be demonstrated, always think of the possibility of reflux of acid from the stomach. High reflux or LPR can occur at any age.
