When do i need to see a specialist for cervical cancer?

If cancer: Most general gynecologists are able to manage and treat preinvasive (precancerous) cervical disease. If a biopsy shows invasive cancer, usually a gynecologic oncologist who specializes in cancer of the female genital tract would take over care.

At diagnosis: By specialist, i recommend a gynecologic oncologist. Your gynecologist should be able to recommend the best one in your area.
