Mononucleosis: is a viral infection causing fever, sore throat, and swollen lymph nodes. Home remedies: drink plenty of water, gargle with warm salt water or mouthwash to ease a sore throat, get plenty of rest and relax. Use Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain and fever. The symptoms may linger for 4-6 weeks.
