Nerve pain: This sounds like pain from a nerve that may be irritated as it leaves the vertebra in your spine and wraps around your rib cage. A spur or disc could be the cause. Sometimes shingles has this type of discomfort but a rash appears after several days in shingles cases. Consult the physician who diagnosed your disc problem that you had in your neck.
