Is seasonal hair shedding a myth or true?

True: The hair goes through different growth stages. The stages differ in length and are affected by different factors - water, weather/climate, texture. Good health.

Seasonal Shedding: Because hair follicles cycle on and off, synchronized shedding at certain times of the year is often noticed by patients. When large numbers of hair follicles turn on, they push out the resting hair shaft when the new hair is produced. The same thing happens when large numbers of hair follicles turn off. Many factors like nutrition, stress, heredity, medications, illness, surgery etc play a role.
