Cool packs: initially cool compresses can limit the amount of bleeding and size of bruise. After the bruise has stabilized then warm compresses can speed up the absorption of the black and blue. Some also believe that arnica Montana can speed the resolution.

Healing black eye: Once the eye itslef has been evaluated, by an eye professional, and determined to be okay, the first 24 hours, cool wet compresses for 10 mins 3-4x per day, then after 24 hours, warm compresses using same routine. Once blood resorbs, should return to normal.
