Seek therapy: Find a good therapist and first find out why you are depressed then work on coping skills to deal with whatever is bothering you. Therapy is quite effective and you can feel better. Get help.: If your depression affects the quality of your life, please see your PCP first who can evaluate whether your depression is caused by a physical problem. He can order tests to rule out thyroid problems. Chronic pain , some medications to alleviate pain can also cause depression. If appropriate he can refer you to a psychotherapist or a psychiatrist. Meanwhile, exercise, eat healthy and rest well.
