Get help.: If your depression affects the quality of your life, please see your PCP first who can evaluate whether your depression is caused by a physical problem. He can order tests to rule out thyroid problems. Chronic pain , some medications to alleviate pain can also cause depression. If appropriate he can refer you to a psychotherapist or a psychiatrist. Meanwhile, exercise, eat healthy and rest well.
