Exercise: Exercise is best way to raise HDL (good cholesterol) as far as medicine is concerned best result is with Niacin at high dose and it carries s/e and raise in HDL is nominal. Statins claims but has very minimal effect if any on hdl.

Multiple factors cou: Don't smoke, lose weight ( if overweight) , healthier fat found in olive, peanut and canola oils — tend to improve hdl's anti-inflammatory abilities. Nuts, fish and other foods containing omega-3 fatty acids are other good choices for improving your LDL cholesterol to HDL cholesterol ratio. Alcohol only in moderation. Meds if needed- niacin, statins, fibrates. Walnuts, oatmeal, oats.Omega-3 fatty.
