A day to weeks: There are 2 types of "allergic" reactions, meaning an immune response, that we typically see with penicillin. However there are numerous non allergic or adverse reactions that can occur.
For your question, the 2 allergic reactions are Type I and Type III. Type I can be immediately following one dose of Pen or after days. TypeIII can occur a few weeks after stopping! Can only test for Type I.
