Chikungunya: Joint pains in Chikungunya can be severe. There is no specific therapy, however. Usually, over the counter anti-inflammatory medications are used. These should be taken with food, and for limited amount of time, and only if you are otherwise healthy and on no meds that may interact.

Chikungunya: treatment is largely symptomatic in nature. There is no vaccine to prevent it & no specific treatment for it. Rest, hydration and Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications are recommended. Skin discoloration may occur which can be treated w topical corticosteroids (use sunscreen). For itching (urticaria) an antihistamine may help. Topical antibiotics may be used on ulcers. Oral corticosteroids
