Red, itchy, bilatera: Pink eye is the common term for a viral infection of the eye lining similar to the infection in the throat we call the common cold. You may have it if both eyes look the same. The condition causes a uniform redness of the conjunctiva over the white of the eye even under the upper lid. There is a sticky clear discharge and minor discomfort. Check with your ophthalmologist for certainty.
