STOP: 6 oz. per week doesn't seem like a lot, but if you are now diabetic, alcohol is NOT good for you. It can damage the pancreas, which produces insulin, it contains 8 calories per gram (so 6 oz. is an additional 1000 calories/week), it sucks vitamins from your body. The person to ask is your diabetes treating physician, not a stranger online. If you ask, can I have 1 drink at a wedding-fine.Not more
