Well tolerated.: Vein closure either with radiofrequency ablation or laser is usually very well tolerated. Most people can be back to routine activities within 48 hours. RF alone has a shorter recovery time than RF and Amb Phlebectomy . The downtime is minimal with both. A lot has to do with the expertise of the person doing the procedure and the amount of microphlebectomies. You should see a vein specialist.

Depends on size & #: The recovery depends upon the number & size of varicose veins that are being removed w/ phlebectomy. The Radiofrequency closure usually requires no recovery time since the pain is very minimal & no incisions. But the phlebectomy requires small punctures in the skin so recovery can range from days to a couple weeks for all pain to resolve. Usually a couple of days off work for combines therapy.
