Can you tell me how your hospital treat ards?

Dr. Joseph Pfeifer answered

Specializes in Trauma Surgery

ARDSNet: We follow the ARDSNet protocols and guidelines. These are searchable on-line. Basically, they are designed to prevent further injury to the lung from high pressures, while maintaining adequate oxygenation. We sometimes allow carbon dioxide levels to rise to moderately high, but safe, levels. We try to wean from the ventilator as the lung improves.
