Who told you that?: You'll need to find out yourself whether it's true. Proponents of this diet, which does give the moral high ground, make all kinds of claims for its health benefits, and if you believed all of them you would be reading uncritically. A vegan diet without proper supplementation can ruin you health in a matter of weeks. Rightly done, it's about as healthy as any other.
