Fiber in Diet: Check w/ doctor for underlying causes. Metamucil is Psyllium, a type of water soluble fiber. 2-3 servings of Metamucil gives you 6-15 grams (depending on form you use) Try fiber rich foods: whole-grain breads & cereals, apples, oranges, broccoli, cauliflower, berries, pears, Brussels sprouts, lettuce, figs, prunes, carrots, spinach, kale, brown rice, bran, etc. Add lots of water. Go slow first.
