Likely not stroke: Altered taste sensation called "dysgeusia" can have several causes as described. One of the more common reasons is pregnancy in the first trimester due to hormonal changes...we are pretty sure that's not it, right? But another cause of hormonal changes is menopause, Is that possible? Or could she have nasal congestion, sinusitis, nasal polyps or other reason for upper respiratory infection?
