Yes: Clinda is one of a few very good antibiotic choices to treat infections of the mouth/teeth. Antibiotic choice is based on the bacteria at the particular site and their susceptibility to specific antibiotics.

Yes: Yes, Clindamycin 300mg, every 6 hours for 1 week is a good choice for an infection. It will usually work better than amoxicillin. Some people may get upset stomach with antibiotics which is not considered an allergy.

No: The best treatment for an abscessed tooth is to get to the root cause of the infection then treat the infection. Using antibiotics is only a temporary fix and can cause a larger infection later. You can also develop resistance to the medication.
