Better ways than hys: A hysterectomy is not the only answer to your problem and may cause more problems for you. In this day and age we have medications like Depoprovera, oral contraceptives and Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD to help with heavy cycles. Your best bet is to see an OB/GYN Provider and talk about what could be going on. You may have a bleeding problem that needs to be investigated.
