Can any docs elaborate in simple terms what is impaired glucose tolerance and impaired fasting glycaemia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

IGT and IFG: Hi. Yes, bot are abnormal test results between the normal and diabetes categories. An impaired fasting glucose (IFG) is a simple fasting test with results in the 100-125 range, and impaired glucose tolerance is a provocative test where you drink 75 grams of glucose in the fasting state and then 2 hours later, your glucose is in the 140-199 range. Both IFG & IGT are nows referred to as prediabetes.
