Really depends on : where the damage is. if you damaged the matrix then the nail will likely never grow in normally, if you injured just the nail plate then over time it will. If there is a growth on the nail bed that is causing the nail to grow abnormally you need to have derm remove the growth for nail to grow normally, hope that helps
